“The Brave Men” follow Jesus Christ and meet on Friday mornings to study the Bible. Since 1995 God has brought over 900 men across the threshold of the “Barn” into his Embassy of Grace. On average 75 to 95 men show up on any given Friday at 6:30 a.m. at “the Barn” at Christ Church at Grove Farm. We grow from studying the living word of God under the leadership of Dr. Bruce Bickel, and we spend the other six days living out what we’ve learned. At God’s “embassy” we are taught about the person and work of Christ. Through this we become “ambassadors” for Christ. That means we don’t change or add to his message, we reflect his message of reconciliation, love, mercy and grace to those God brings across our paths.
If you desire to know more about what followers of Christ believe and why they believe it, please join us on a Friday morning. Click here to explore our website to learn more about what God is doing among these men who by the grace of God strive to be brave for his sake and his glory.
Christ Church at Grove Farm, and the Barn, are located at 249 Duff Road, Sewickley, PA 15143. Duff Road is just off of Mt. Nebo Road, accessible from Rt. 79 or Rt. 279, to Camp Horne Road to Mt. Nebo Road. Doors open around 6am; the teaching starts at 6:30am. Afterwards we talk among ourselves as to how we’re going to apply what we just learned. Some men have breakfast together as a means of continuing the fellowship we have started. (Truth be told we’re all a bunch of cowards but with the transforming love of Christ and the grace of God he is forming us into His Brave Men.)

The Renovation of the Barn
The Home of the Brave Men, “The Barn” has been thoroughly renovation. We returned to the Barn on June 29th, 2018. A special thanks to Bob Williams for his generosity to make this project happen, and many others from Christ Church and our fellowship that helped to restore the Barn! The Brave Men who contributed their time and skills to make the renovation of the Barn possible were acknowledged during our Bible Study, on July 20, 2018, by Dr. Bruce Bickel. Pictured below, from left to right, Bob Williams, Frank Melnyk, Don Bishop, Don Rimby, Mike Davis, Bruce Bickel, and Brett Christman. Not all the men who helped out were present that day. Our thanks also goes out to Jim Britsch, Barry Bretsnyder, Harvey Hinch, and Ryan Copeland.
