Update from Jim Mills on Kevin’s situation, January 21, 2015
“I spoke to my old friend and co-worker Carolyn Kenny concerning her son Kevin who was paralyzed while playing Jr. Hockey. After extensive modifications and the addition of an in-home elevator, they are back in their home and it sounds like Kevin is getting around quite well. Carolyn said Kevin maintains a very positive attitude and ‘has a great smile every day.’ He has some movement in his arms and hands. Sounds like his best hope right now for further recovery might be stem cell research and he may be a good candidate. Kevin was recently in the hospital to have numerous kidney stones removed. He gets out occasionally and enjoys going to Pens & Quaker Valley High School Hockey games.
Overall, it sounds like Kevin and family are adjusting to their new lifestyle and circumstances. It has not been easy but there have been many people in the community that have stepped up to help. As you can imagine, the Kenny family can use our prayers. Jim Mills”
