Ian Davis receives the Certificate of Achievement from the President of the Cairo Illinois Weight Watchers Int’l.

Ian Davis reached the Mississippi River on Sunday, September 15 around 1:15pm to a gathering crowd of well wishers who have followed his once in a lifetime journey.  Ian and Gracie (his dog) are well while Elinore (his canoe) needs a good coat of shellac for his next journey.  The picture to the left shows the Cairo, Illinois president of Weight Watchers presenting Ian with his official certificate confirming the total numbers of pounds Ian lost on his trip. Notice the “before” picture below from from the May 29, posting just three days prior to his launch.

Ian will be heading home to Pittsburgh after visiting with friends near Cairo Illinois.

Go to Ian’s Facebook page (see the link below) to view the pictures, stories and notes about this great adventure. We hope to welcome Ian back to the Barn very soon.

Prayer Request from Ian Davis, Wednesday, May 29, 2013

“I’m off on the ‘adventure-of-a-lifetime’ as I paddle down the 1,000 mile length of the Ohio River, from “The Point to Cairo”. If my planning is accurate it should take me 2½ months of six-days-a-week paddling. I’m sure many of you would love to be on a journey like this if your health or life circumstances would allow it. Please travel with me vicariously by ‘liking’ my Facebook page called The Point To Cairo, and watch my regular updates (you need to have a Facebook account to “like” it, but not to just view the page).

Elinore (the canoe), Gracie (the puppy), and Ian (the old man), paddle from "The Point" to Cairo, IL... 1,000 miles!

Elinore (the canoe), Gracie (the puppy), and Ian (the old man), paddle from “The Point” to Cairo, IL… 1,000 miles!

I would appreciate your prayers during my journey for the safety of Elinore (the canoe), Gracie (the puppy) and me (the old man). Also, if you’re able, I could really use some financial help to make it happen.  You can contribute via the “GoFundMe” post on The Point To Cairo Facebook page.  This will ultimately help me maintain my educational ministry, Called2Communicate.

As a fun note, you will catch Elinore, Gracie & me being interviewed by Sally Wiggin of WTAE on the Thursday evening news at 6:00 p.m.

Lastly, if you’re inclined to join me at the ‘send-off’, there will be a Launch Party at Point State Park starting at noon on Saturday (June 1st). I’ll be taking off at about 1:00 p.m. I’d love to see you there if you’re free.

Thank you very much!

Grace & Truth & Peace,

Ian”
